Our COVID-19 Response
With the onset of Covid-19 early in 2020, all Upower programming came to a screeching halt as in-person school instruction was moved online. In an effort to keep families moving and playing, Upower created at-home Playkits as part of the Uhome program.
Each Playkit included a piece of sport or fitness equipment (soccer ball, jump rope, basketball, etc.) and an activity sheet with games and workouts! We worked with over 50 community organizations to distribute over 30,000 Playkits to local families, in an effort to keep youth physically active and playing through the collective trauma of the covid-19 pandemic.
