2023 Announcement

Upower will be skipping our Annual Dodge for a Cause dodgeball tournament as we plan to move it earlier in the year of 2024. So give your arms a rest as we plan for the biggest Dodge for a Cause in 2024! In the meantime, we will be testing some other fundraising techniques; starting with Match with Marky!

February marks Upower’s second annual Match with Marky giving campaign, and this year Mark Paper is generously pledging to match up to $50,000 for all donations in February in honor of Mark’s 90th birthday. Remember, no Dodge for a Cause this year, so please consider donating and Marky will match your donation!

A little about Mark Paper…

Mark Paper is the proud father of four children including Upower’s founder Martha Moseley. For 60 years Marky has been the CEO of Lewis Bolt & Nut, and shares some things in common with Upower; Marky understands building trust is key in leadership. Whether it’s a manufacturing team, or a team of youth who are underserved, trust is the pillar to success. Marky also understands empowering people provides opportunity for learning and growth, which we believe is essential in the power of play!

Marky has spent the last 90 years leading an active lifestyle; playing football, hockey, basketball, tennis, baseball, and ran the NY Marathon at 50 and still gets his steps in at 90. Marky is asking everyone to help celebrate this momentous birthday by supporting health equity for youth by making a donation towards Upower’s mission.
