Mark Paper generously pledged to match up to $25,000 in giving over the month of February in honor of the beginning of his 90th year (his birthday is on February 25th). Mark asked the Upower community to give to assist Upower in addressing disparities to active healthy and matched every dollar up to $25,000! Thank you Marky for rallying our Upower community to celebrate you! You all raised $15,039.50 to be matched by Marky. The Upower team is very grateful for our generous community of supporters. A little about Mark Paper. Mark and his wife Francie are the proud parents of four children including Upower founder Martha Moseley. Mark instilled the power of a healthy lifestyle and a giving heart in Martha at a young age, supporting his children in all their athletic teams. Marky (his grandfather name) continues to support his 9 grandchildren in all their athletic endeavors and has been known to fly out to California for a college track meet and then take the red eye flight back to Minnesota.  Mark himself played hockey, football, and baseball in high school and continued to play hockey in college. His love of sports continued into adulthood, playing in basketball and tennis leagues, and Mark ran the NY Marathon at 50 and continued running for many years.  He prides himself on walking/running as many miles as his age monthly! Mark has been an incredible Upower supporter since it’s inception and came up with the idea of a matching grant to celebrate entering his 90th year of healthy living!  Cheers to staying active and Marky’s 89th birthday 🙂
